(South Boston, VA)  The JR Motorsports late model team competed at South Boston Speedway in Saturday s Pepsi Late Model 110.

After a suspected motor problem during last week s race at New River Valley
Speedway, the team confirmed that they were not getting the horsepower
needed to be competitive for the win. The team qualified 8th out of 22 cars with a 16.203 second lap.  Pole position was set by Denny Hamlin in the 99 car with a 15.944 second lap.

TJ Majors commented, "We really have a great setup for the car. The car
handling was excellent.  It would corner well but wouldn't get down the straight-aways.  We will get the motor problem resolved and be where we need to be. "

The team finished in a strong 8th position, despite the problems. Denny
Hamlin won the 110 lap race after a green-white-checker finish, followed by
Jimmy Mullins and Woody Howard.

This week, the team will be focusing its efforts on finding the lost
horsepower and gaining the momentum needed to score their first late model
victory.
