(Radford, VA)  TJ Majors and the JR Motorsports late model team headed back to Motor Mile Speedway after a strong 3rd place finish in last week’s events to compete in Saturday’s Unifirst/Waste Management/Craftsman 100 lap late model race. Feeling confident in the #17, the team bypassed their usual Friday test session going straight into Saturday’s events.

Majors qualified with a 16.61 second lap, putting him in the 13th starting position. Jason Mitcham in the #24 took the pole with a 16.27 second lap and Denny Hamlin in 2nd with a 16.32.

Determination set in as the green flag dropped. Majors charged his way towards the #75. The #41 car hit the wall in turn 1 and 2, setting an early caution on lap 4. A long green flag run sent TJ rocketing through the field. On lap 83, TJ took over the 8th position as the #20 got loose and spun down the backstretch. On lap 95, Denny Hamlin, in contention for the win, had a flat tire sending him to pit road. With a green-white-checker finish, Chad Harris took the win. Majors went on to claim the 4th place, behind race leader Chad Harris, Frank Deiny Jr., and Jason Lawrence.

The JR Motorsports late model team will head to Motor Mile Speedway for the Saturday, August 14th, Marshall Concrete 200 lap race.
